Mushroom Paratha Recipe
The Mushroom Paratha Recipe is a healthy and delicious stuffed
paratha that has exceptional nutrient values. Mushrooms are naturally
low in sodium, fat, cholesterol, and calories and have often been referred to
as "functional foods." Consuming mushrooms, which are high in
potassium and low in sodium helps to lower blood pressure and decrease the risk
of high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases. The fiber, potassium
and vitamin C content in mushrooms all contribute to cardiovascular health.
Potassium and sodium work together in the body to help regulate blood pressure.
It can be prepared for breakfast, brunch or lunch. It can be
served as healthy snack for kids.
Preparation time : 30-40 minutes
Ingredients
For the dough
2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
2 teaspoons Sunflower Oil
Salt to taste
For the filling
250 grams Button mushrooms finely chopped
- 1 Onion finely
chopped
- 1
teaspoon cumin seeds (Jeera)
- 1
teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
- 1/2
teaspoon chat masala (Optional)
- 2 Green
Chillies finely chopped
- 1/4
teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
- Ghee
or oil for cooking
- 1 Onion finely
chopped
Steps to prepare stuffed mushroom paratha
- 1) Prepare soft dough using ingredients mentioned above.
- 2) Heat oil in a kadai or pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds (Jeera). Once the cumin seeds crackle, add onion and sauté until it turns light brown. Add chopped green chilies.
- 3) Then add finely chopped mushrooms and sauté until it turns dry.
4) Add 1/4 teaspoon of Turmeric powder (Haldi), 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder and 1/2 teaspoon chat masala (Optional).
5) Add salt to taste
6) Start preparing paratha by rolling the dough and take a portion of mushroom stuffing and fill it in the dough as shown in the below screenshots:
7) Preheat tava and put the filled mushroom paratha on tawa. Add ghee and cook it evenly.
Variations: We can add green peas and cheese in the stuffing.
