How to make yourselves happy instantly - Activating Dopamine !
There is no perfect formula to be happy. Being happy is the basic responsibility of every human being. Happiness is a "NOW" thing. If you wait for being happy, you will never be happy and you will wait forever. If you decide to happy from this very moment then you will be happy forever. Happiness brings positivity to one's life. Life is never easy and perfect. It all depends on how we handle things and how do we react to the situation. We have to make life easy and happening. It is up to us on how we build our life.
Always being sad, annoyed, crying, angry, being possessive, comparing your life with others life, cribbing about everything, scared of someone or something, overthinking, overreacting, repenting for the decisions that you have taken in the past, suppressing your anger, avoiding people, not opening up, not expressing your thoughts, feeling guilty, over dedicating yourself to something, constantly getting irritated for small things and showing frustration on others, not laughing or smiling often and trying to be perfect in everything leads us to depression. It not only affects our brain, but it also affects our health. I love observing people and their behaviour. People who have 3 or more symptoms that I have mentioned above are sensitive both mentally and physically. They can only focus on only one thing at a time. They often fall sick as they are sensitive. This is just my observation.
On the other hand, There are people who love themselves. They try to keep themselves happy all the time. No matter what they are going through. They keep themselves motivated and they motivate others even when they are depressed. They try to be happy irrespective of the situation they are going through in their life. They are so positive that they try to resolve the problem than cribbing about it all the time. They generally keep themselves happy and try to keep their surrounding happy. Do what makes you feel good. Each one of us is different. The element which makes us happy depends on individual personality. For instance, few may feel good after watching a good movie. Whereas, few may feel good after cleaning the house. Avoid talking to negative people when you are sad or depressed. Talk to people who love you for what you are. We don't get everything in life. We need to adjust and compromise at some point of life.
We can train our brain to be happy. Have laughter sessions at home. Watch comedy movies or shows to boost your mood. It is ok to be crazy sometimes if that makes you happy. Text a friend. Reaching out to a pal and letting them know how awesome they are will make you feel awesome, too. Always think positive, No matter how bad things may seem, be grateful. Read your favourite comic or books. Try to do some new thing. Pamper yourselves!
There are four types of “happy hormones” :
1) Dopamine. Also known as the “feel-good” hormone, dopamine is a hormone and neurotransmitter that’s an important part of your brain’s reward system. It is associated with pleasurable sensations, along with learning, memory, motor system function, and more.
2) Serotonin - This hormone (and neurotransmitter) helps regulate your mood as well as your sleep, appetite, digestion, learning ability, and memory.
3) Oxytocin often called the “love hormone” This hormone can also help promote trust, empathy, and bonding in relationships
4) Endorphins - Endorphins are your body’s natural pain reliever, which your body produces in response to stress or discomfort. Endorphin levels also tend to increase when you engage in reward-producing activities, such as eating or working out.
Few tips to keep yourself happy whenever you feel depressed or sad are:
1) Listen to your favourite music or songs. Listening to your favourite songs instantly boosts your mood.
2) Try to recall and cherish a few good things that are happened in your life so far, for which you feel blessed.
3) This one is my favourite. Eat or cook! Eat your favourite dish. I generally eat chocolate or death by chocolate whenever I feel depressed. I am a chocolate person. Trust me, It works.
4) Exercise - Try to indulge yourselves by doing yoga or workout. My personal favourite is Zumba. I feel good whenever I dance. It is satisfying and healthy.
5) Talk to your close friends who understand you better. On the contrary, talk to one of your old friends who barely have any updates on you. It feels good to cherish old memories. Since the friend with which you are talking to is not aware of your present life, you don't have to answer to the questions which you are going through currently. We cannot bluff to our best friends. They understand our mood swings.
6) Hangout with your friends. In the current situation, this is not possible. Hence, talking over the phone is the best alternative. You are lucky if your best friend stays in the same apartment or stays in the same street. You can very well meet for coffee, chit chat and refresh your mind at any point of time instantly.
7) Take a ride on your bike or walk. Switch on your bike and take some fresh air. Have your favourite street-side food and come back home.
8) Take a break. Stop thinking on the topics which makes you feel sad. Don't react or take any action. Just relax and take a chill pill.
9) Seeing something cute makes us smile which in turn makes us happier. Think about your crush. This instantly makes you happy. Crush is just not a feeling. It is more than that. You feel good when your crush is around. Though it is one-sided, the amount of happiness you get when you see them or think about them is huge. This instantly activates dopamine. If you are enough lucky you would have got some chance to interact and have those little sweet moments which you can cherish all your life.
10) Share your achievements, happy moments, pictures, incidents of your life, memories etc as WhatsApp status with close friends. You will feel good when you get comments and likes for the pictures that you have shared. You feel good when people you like view your update and respond. It will instantly make you happy.
11) Do whatever you want to do which makes you happy.
It is essential to keep yourselves happy in the current situation that we all are going through. As we are spending all our time at home, The stress level will be more and we get frustrated easily. Family is everything. If you get frustrated with your family, then with whom can you be happy? Forgive, forget and move on.
